“Have Faith in God”
Mark 11:22
Read Mark 11:12-26

Since the very beginning of Ramiah Faith Restoration Church, our call to ministry has been, “Stay in faith and seek the Lord.” And we subscribe to faith that is real. Real faith is complete confidence in, and conviction of, the truthfulness of God. God is faithful and cannot lie; his word is truth. Jesus said, “Have faith in God”. In other words, if you have the same kind of faith that God has, you can speak to the mountain, and it will obey. Not only will the mountain obey, but whenever you speak, if you believe and do not doubt, you will have whatever you say. The whole premise of that statement is based on us having a close relationship to God through the Lord Jesus Christ; “You must be born again” (John 3:6). I’m sure, to some, that sounds like religious gobbledygook. But the words of Jesus are clear. According to Heb. 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” How many of us want to please God more than anything? How many of you think God is really pleased with you? Knofel Staton wrote in his book, Heaven Bound Living, “Faith involves believing that God is—that is, that He is real, that He exists, that He is alive, that He is who He claims He is, with all the authority He says He has.”

Jesus spoke very pointedly to his disciples when he said, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also. . . (John 14:12). This great statement of our Lord contains a message that we should always let dwell in our hearts richly so that it might speak to our spirits, challenge our minds, motivate our emotions, and steer us away from doubt and unbelief. What Jesus said is that the work He did while on earth is what we should be doing now. Healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, and yes, raising the dead also. But how can we do what he did if we don’t possess the power and ability that he had? That’s why faith is essential to the Christian life. We must believe that since we’ve been transformed into the image of Christ, that through Him, we can also do what he did.

A person can choose to love you because of his or her own goodness, but to be pleased with you, they actually have to like your performance. God’s standard is perfection and no goodness on our part can ever compensate for our sins. It takes the precious blood of Jesus to do that. We may please man with our actions but “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23).

So, when you pray, don’t beg God to do what He has given you the authority to do. As a matter of fact, He has given to us, “all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. . .” (Eph. 1:3). So, in essence, we have everything we need already. What God wants is for His children to agree with Him and by faith, speak as He would. If we have the faith that God has, when we speak, we will get God’s results. Amen!

Stay tuned, more to come.
